Brachycephalic breeds that cannot be checked: Bullmastiff, Dogo de Burdeos, American Bully, Affenpinscher, Boston Terrier, Bulldog (all breeds), Chow Chow, English Toy Spaniel, Brussels Griffon, Japanese Chin (Spaniel), Lhasa Apso, Pekingese, Pug or Carlino (all breeds), Shar Pei, Shih Tzu, Tibetan Spaniel, Pitbull.

Brachycephalic cat breeds that cannot be transported: Burmese, American Burmese, Exotic Shorthair, Himalayan, Persian (all breeds), Scottish Fold.

Important: GOL reserves the right to refuse to ship dogs and cats with brachycephalic breed characteristics in the interest of animal safety.

Note: Dogs and cats classified as SRD (no defined breed) may have brachycephalic breed characteristics.

• Be made of fiber or durable plastic, with locks that prevent the animal from getting out. Kennels made of wood, straw, or other fragile materials that do not provide for the safety of the pet are not acceptable;
• Have small side openings to allow air to enter and circulate;
• Have locks that prevent accidental opening, either from the inside or the outside;
• Have an interior floor lined or fitted with a material that absorbs the animal's urine and feces to prevent leakage during transport;
• Be delivered to GOL completely clean, disinfected, and sterilized to prevent contamination of the animal and others.
• In addition, the kennel must be identified with the flight booking code (locator) along with the name, address and telephone number of the passenger responsible for transporting the pet.

Notice: To ensure the safety of your pet during the flight, the transport box that does not meet the specifications mentioned above are subject to non-boarding.

Check-in for travel with your pet must be done exclusively at the GOL Service Desk. For your convenience, it is important that you arrive early:

• Two hours for domestic flights; 
• Three hours for international check-in.

This will allow you to pick up your pet's boarding pass and provide any documentation required by your destination!

To travel with your dog or cat in the cabin, it's important to know all the rules of the service:

General Rules

• The animal must be at least six months old and the weight of the animal plus the kennel must be up to 30 kg for transportation in the cargo compartment;
   
• The transportation of animals other than dogs and cats is not allowed. In these cases, GOLLOG, the cargo service of GOL, should be consulted about the possibility of transportation;
   
• GOL does not carry short-nosed dogs and cats in the cargo compartment due to the characteristics of their respiratory system. Check with your veterinarian to make sure your pet does not fall into this category, to ensure comfort and safety during transportation. If you are in doubt about which breeds are allowed, please contact GOL;
   
• GOL reserves the right to refuse boarding to animals whose kennels do not meet the required standards and may therefore pose a risk to the animal's health and flight safety;
   
• Some countries have restrictions and/or seasonal vaccination requirements for the transport of animals. It is important to check with the consulate and health authorities of the destination country prior to travel;
   
• There are restrictions on the number of animals on each flight, so it is important to book the service in advance. The transportation of animals is an optional service and accessory to the transportation of passengers;
   
• If a flight is changed at the request of the passenger, the animal will not be automatically transferred to the new flight. The transfer must be requested by the passenger and is subject to the availability of the service on the new flight;
   
• In the event of a flight change for meteorological or operational reasons (involuntary changes), GOL will provide accommodation and assistance in accordance with Resolution 400/ANAC on flights where the service is available;
   
• In the event of no-show, cancellation or non-use of the service, the passenger may request a refund of the amount paid for the pet's transportation;
   
• The service can be cancelled by calling 0800 704 0465 or in person at the airport;
   
• There is no mileage accrual for the purchase of this service. Pet transportation in the checked baggage compartment is not accepted on connecting flights with other airlines.
   
• Check-in via GOL's digital channels is not allowed for passengers traveling with a pet and must be done two hours in advance for domestic flights and three hours in advance for international flights;
   
• The pet must have all required documentation.
   
• This service is not available on flights to or from Miami, Orlando, Punta Cana, Bogotá, San José, Aruba and Cancún that have connections with other airlines, or on flights with two or more connections.
