Here's all the information you need about flying with carry-on baggage. We've also prepared a Baggage Guide Video to help you prepare and enjoy every moment. Ready to take off?
Standard carry-on baggage Carry-on baggage must be placed in the overhead compartments. It is therefore important to respect the dimensions and weights allowed: 35 cm wide, 55 cm high and 25 cm deep, including wheels. If the baggage does not meet the established standards, the customer will be charged an excess baggage fee.
Personal Items Personal items such as a backpack, purse, eco-bag, laptop bag, airport shopping bag and camera/electronic case may be placed under the seat in front of you. The maximum dimensions for personal items are 32 cm wide, 22 cm high and 43 cm deep.
Bag and backpack labels You can have your personal items tagged at check-in or at the boarding gate. This will help keep your flight organized and on time.
Standard carry-on baggage: in the overhead bins. Depending on the aircraft, bags may be placed vertically or horizontally.
Personal items: should be placed under the seat in front of you.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask one of our Flight Attendants for assistance.
To avoid bigger problems when travelling, it is essential to know in advance which is allowed to take or not in your carry-on baggage. It is also important to know which items need previous authorization by GOL.
You may bring non-radioactive medical or personal care items, including aerosols, as long as:
In this class we have products as atomizers, perfumes, colognes and medication (which contains alcohol).
Important: those items can also be transported in the checked baggage.
Extra batteries for portable electronic devices (batteries, lithium metal or lithium-ion batteries) must be carried in carry-on baggage only. Power sources (such as the power bank) are also considered to be spare batteries.
You can take a maximum of two extra batteries, which must be individually protected to prevent short circuits. Other important recommendations:
Important: Lithium -ion batteries between 100 and 160 Wh, or lithium metal between 2 and 8 g (for exclusive use in portable medical electronic devices), can only be transported with authorization from GOL and only in carry-on baggage. The transportation is totally prohibited with items which exceed the limits specified above.
The transport of beverages in your carry-on baggage will depend on the alcohol content and the type of flight. Remembering that allowed beverages can only be transported by people over 18 years of age and must be in leakproof, labelled and sealed packages. Otherwise, checking may be denied.

Important: under no circumstances will smart bags with batteries of more than 100 Wh be accepted. Lithium batteries used in this type of bag can short circuit and cause a fire that is difficult to control by the aircraft's fire extinguisher system.

You may transport medication in your carry-on baggage, as long as they are properly accompanied by a medical prescription. We recommend that you ask your doctor for an additional prescription and, if necessary, provide one in the language of the destination country. It is also good to have your doctor's report handy to present to airport security authorities.
Another important point is that some medications, such as insulin, need proper transport. Therefore, please contact the manufacturer to find out about the correct packing during the trip. It is essential to know that GOL accepts a maximum of 2.5 kg of dry ice to store medicines (carry-on or checked baggage).

This service allows you to weigh and tag your bags on domestic flights. Then simply go to the Express Baggage drop-off kiosk and board.
1 At the self-service totem, select the "Check-in" option and enter your reservation code, CPF or Smiles number to start the process. If you have already checked in, select "Check Baggage" and enter your Locator Number.
2 Before completing check-in, the system will ask if you want to check your baggage. Click "Yes" and place your bag on the scale. Wait for it to be weighed. If you have already checked in, the system will prompt you to weigh your bag immediately.
3 If the fare you purchased already includes baggage allowance, there will be no additional charge! Finish the weighing process and if you have more baggage, repeat the process.
4 If there is excess baggage, the system will inform you of the amount to be paid and the credit card brands accepted. Enter your card information and wait for payment confirmation. For Smiles Diamond, Gold and Silver members, the system already takes into account the additional baggage allowance to which they are entitled.
5 Wait for the tags to be printed and attached to the bag. Remove the paper from the tag following the instructions printed on the tag, pulling from the bottom to the top, making sure the protection is completely removed.
6 Position the tag on the handle of your bag, preferably on the top, and affix it.

Check the rules of GOL's partner companies.

In these cases, we cannot arrange for the repair or replacement of the luggage, as the damage does not compromise its use.
Go to GOL Baggage Service to report the damage and open the Baggage Irregularity Report. All information on how we will proceed to solve the damage will be transmitted by one of our employees during the service at the airport.
You have 7 (seven) days (from the date of receipt of your baggage) to file the Irregularity Report. To do so, you must go to the GOL Baggage Service at the nearest airport with your damaged luggage and proof of dispatch

Items such as cash, documents, jewelry, electronic and fragile equipment must be transported as hand luggage. We are not responsible for loss or damage to these objects.
Check out some tips so you can set your luggage in the best way:
⦁ The identification tag inserted at check-in may be lost en route to the aircraft. Therefore, personal identifications can speed up the location in cases of loss. On the outside, place your own identifier with your surname, telephone number and e-mail address and, on the inside, place a business card or a piece of paper with the same data;
⦁ Before checking your luggage, remove all tags from previous trips;
⦁ Personalize your luggage with ribbons, stickers or any other accessories that can easily identify it on the baggage claim belt and avoid exchanges;
⦁ Adapt the size of your luggage to your needs and make sure it is closed properly. Excessively overloaded baggage is in danger of breaking;
⦁ Take your valuables, fragile or indispensable (keys, documents, jewelry, money, medication, prescriptions, etc.) in your carry-on;
⦁ Ensure your items can be transported in the cabin or hold;
⦁ Photograph your checked luggage before travel.
