Learn everything you need for your GOL and avianca trip. Browse the menu below and check out the main rules of this GOL Partner company:
The international baggage allowance will be honored by GOL only for flights issued on the same ticket. The international baggage allowance is not honored on one-way flights (purchased separately), even on a partner airline. In this case, the allowance and rules for each flight purchased will apply.
It is not possible to purchase checked baggage in advance through digital channels. The purchase must be made directly at the counter of the airline where you will be checking in and will be honored until you reach your final destination.
Fragile items Fragile items are accepted as long as they are properly packed. However, if the product is damaged for any reason, the company is not responsible for reimbursing you. See the Air Carrier Contract for more information.
Perishables Perishable items are not accepted. For more information, please contact the consular or customs offices of the destination and transit countries.
Transport of infant items (0 to 2 years of age) When traveling in their own (reserved) seat, infants are entitled to the same checked baggage allowance as an adult. If they are traveling on your lap, they can check in one piece of baggage up to 10 kg.
A complimentary allowance of 1 stroller (for use) and/or 1 baby carrier will be provided.
Baggage claim Your baggage tags must indicate your final destination.
If the passenger is coming to Brazil from an international origin, in case of connecting passengers, the baggage must be claimed at the first stop in the country (Brazil). After the obligatory customs procedures, the customer must go to the GOL counter to reclaim the baggage.
If the customer is traveling the United States, in the case of connecting passengers, the baggage must be collected at the first stop in the country. After the obligatory customs procedures, the customer must go to the counter of the company operating the next flight to reclaim the baggage.
Lost baggage In the event of lost baggage, the responsibility for registering and monitoring the status of the baggage file lies with the last airline to transport the passenger. If baggage is found to be lost when connecting international flights to domestic GOL flights, the customer must open a baggage case with the airline that transported them on the previous leg.
Damaged baggage In the case of damaged baggage, the customer must contact the last carrier to open a baggage claim. If the damage is from an international flight to a domestic GOL flight, the case should be opened with the carrier of the first leg.
Carry-on baggage One piece of carry-on baggage is permitted with dimensions that do not exceed 55 cm in height, 35 cm in width and 25 cm in length, including pockets, wheels and handles, and a total weight of up to 10 kg.
All electronics must be carried as carry-on items. Laptops, cameras, cell phones, camcorders and tablets must go through the airport's X-ray machine at the entrance to the departure lounge.
Valuables such as jewelry and cash must also be carried as carry-on items.
It is forbidden to carry in hand luggage: bladed weapons, firearms, cartridges and ammunition for firearms, printer cartridges, bottles with more than 100 ml of liquid, fuels, batteries with electrolytes, lithium batteries with a capacity of more than 160 Wh, fireworks, bombs, paints, chemicals and mercury thermometers.

To request special services, please contact the call center of the airline operating the segment of travel. Please note: Some services may not be available on flights operated in partnership with another airline.
Passengers with Special Needs Requests for assistance for passengers with special needs must be made when booking the ticket or at least 72 hours prior to departure. For trips where the first segment is operated by GOL, check-in can be done at the GOL counter at the airport, through our website https://www.voegol.com.br/en, APP or kiosk/totem. If the first segment is operated by avianca, check-in can be done at the avianca counter or through the partner's website www.avianca.com.
Remember that you must be in possession of valid travel documents*, such as a valid passport, visas and vaccinations, if applicable.
*Documentation (including visas and vaccinations) is the passenger's responsibility. We recommend that you check with the embassies of your destination countries to avoid any hassle.
Please note: Your boarding pass must include all segments of your itinerary. Also, you only need to check your baggage once and we will transfer it between flights. However, it is necessary to check the customs procedures of each destination country and remember that baggage policies may vary from airline to airline, so check before you travel..
Seats on GOL flights must be booked via the GOL website and/or call center: www.voegol.com.br/en/customer-service/telephones.
Seats on avianca flights can only be assigned at the airport on the day of departure. Visit: www.avianca.com for more information.
